A True Story
Wednesday evening I was greeted with great excitement by a Jonah, a 7 year old, holding this Ziploc bag of coins and dollars. He handed it to me as his mother Joy explained what had happened earlier that day.
Jonah brought Joy his bank and asked her if she knew what he was going to do with all his money. He said that he wanted to give it to God. Joy said that was great and he could take it to church with him that evening.
He asked how people at church were going to get the money up to heaven. Joy told him that giving money at church was a way to give it to God. That the people in leadership at church listen to God in prayer and practice Godly values when spending the money that people give. He said like building the new part of the church? Joy said, "yes." Then all of a sudden a light bulb went off and he said, "So that means if I give all my money, they will be able to make the church bigger, then more people can fit in the church, and if more people can fit into the church, then more people will hear about God, and if more people hear about God, then more people will believe in God, and if more people believe in God, THEN MORE PEOPLE WILL GO TO HEAVEN!"
Jonah, along with his brothers Jacob and Owen ended up searching the house for probably an hour and a half.
The funny thing Joy shared is that he kept asking her "We're finding a lot of money aren't we, Mommy - This is a lot of money, right?" Joy told them they were doing a great job. But sometimes he would look at the Ziploc bag of coins and say - "It's a lot isn't it, but it's not enough. Other people will have to give their money too. Then we will have enough to make the church REALLY BIG!" Then he wanted to know if we could make it so big that everybody in the world would learn about God and go to Heaven?
What a lesson! Thanks Jonah.
The Children’s Area looks amazing, have you checked it out?
All but one room is complete and the hallway will be done
over the next few months. God has blessed CrossView with
so many talented people who have given time to pull
this all together!
